Joy Williams
Songs From This

Artist Info: Discography
Album length: 5 tracks
Street Date: September 15, 2009

Earlier this year, Joy Williams returned from her music hiatus with the outstanding, yet somewhat short EP that truly defined her as one of the great indie artists out there. Now, she returns again with two brand new EPs, this one being titled Songs From This.

The five song EP starts out with the effervescent and joyful "Sunny Day," reminiscent of her fabulous "One of Those Days." The song is also getting exposure by being played on The CW's drama 90210. "Fine Line" tones the vibe down and showcases an outstanding piece of music and great vocals. And that's the greatest thing about Joy, she is an absolutely phenomenal singer, and she's now growing into being a phenomenal artist.

"Golden Thread" is another mid-tempo masterpiece, and "I Hate It When We Fight," a duet with David Mead, is a beautiful song about the struggles of marriage. "Turnaround" ends the EP on a high note, with light horn programming and cheery vocals.

Overall, I don't usually rate albums five stars, but Songs From This is an absolutely remarkable EP. It may seem a little short, but when you buy this, grab her Songs From That EP and If You Wanna Go - Single as well, and you'll have your fill of truly brilliant music from Joy Williams.
