The first collective full-length album released by Deepspace5, The Night We Called it a Day, is an album that should be listened to night and day! Started in 1997, Deepspace5 includes such members as Manchild, Listener, Playdough, Freddie, Bruno, Sev Statick, and Sintax.
Deepspace5 brings to the table that ole' east coast sound. Smooth and a little jazzy, this is the hip hop that has been missed in the Christian music industry until now. With stellar tracks like "Night We Called it a Day," "Winter in Manhattan," "Closed Caption," and "Joywriting," Deepspace5 is right on target.
The Night We Called it a Day is full of smooth head-bopping beats, strong lyrics, and a little dash of old school. What more do you need? The only turnoff from this album is that there are no printed lyrics for those of us that need them, but it's no major problem. That just gives another reason to pop it in the stereo and hit repeat.
With this first collective full-length album like this it will definitely be interesting and exciting to see what these guys will bring forth in the future.
