While his releases are few and far between, Tedashii has solidified himself as one of Christian hip-hop's most consistent artists. The Reach Records artist continues to set his work apart from the rest of the crowd, taking his time in crafting something special. This Time Around 2 is no different, seamlessly fitting into his discography.
Things kick off with "This Time," featuring the silky vocals of Jon Keith. It serves as an honest representation of the ups and downs we face in our spiritual lives, with lyrics such as "I've been out of focus, I can tell I'm broken / I've been feelin' lonely, can You tell me that I'm chosen? / Tell me that I'm Yours, I'm insecure, didn't You notice? / Tell me that You love me, like I don't already know it". "Holy Ground" and "Man Of The Year'' maintain a buoyant tempo, as both portray Tedashii's energetic side quite well.
In contrast, the following numbers, "Have A Nice Day" and "With U," add some softer and poppy elements to the record. As expected, Tedashii collaborated with several artists on the album, which just strengthens the diversity throughout its entirety. Previously released single "Respect My Team" features rappers Trip Lee and Lecrae, proving to be one of the most powerful tracks on the record. "Good Love" is classic Tedashii, serving up some southern soul that boasts nothing but good vibes: "I'm gonna be the good love / I'm gonna be the change, for sure / 'Cause people don't love anymore / We ain't trying anymore / But I'm gonna be the good love."
Generally speaking, This Time Around 2 is a gem. It's a solid offering across the board, declaring a strong Christ-centered message coated with Tedashii's smooth delivery. Songs such as "Respect My Team" and "Man Of The Year" are ear candy, bound to be fan favorites during live shows. Meanwhile, tracks like "Mirror Talk" and "With U" balance things out with heartfelt, meaningful lyrics that speak to the soul. Without a doubt, Tedashii is here to stay in the Christian hip-hop scene.
