ZOEgirl
With All Of My Heart: The Greatest Hits

Artist Info: Discography
Album length: 15 tracks: 61 minutes, 51 seconds
Street Date: December 27, 2005

For the past six years, ZOEgirl has been a voice to the young women of today by way of their dance pop friendly and, as of more recently, pop/rock concoctions. Never for once backing down from a bold faith-based message, ZOEgirl has been a consistently relevant influence on Christian music listeners.

With All Of My Heart: The Greatest Hits is a somewhat premature look back at the the trio's still budding career. Gathering highlights from all four of the band's previous studio releases, including their latest, Room To Breathe, which released just a few months earlier, With All Of My Heart serves as a good sampler from ZOE's catalog. Like most decent hits collections, there are a couple incentives to this release. Out of the fifteen tracks enclosed, two are brand new exclusives to this release. The first, "One Day" fits nicely into the album's opening string of synth pop selections as sort of a synth-kissed pop/rock anthem. Written by the group's own Alisa Childers, "One Day" is a longing for heaven and a worthy inclusion on the record. The catchy "You Get Me" (from Different Kind Of Free) and the Avril-inspired "About You" (from Room To Breathe), precede the second new offering, "Unchangeable," a worshipful pop track also penned by Childers. One thing that's commendable about the group's music is, while their songs may not break any new ground stylistically, the ZOE girls aid in writing nearly each song they perform. This isn't common for this genre, as most of the time other songwriters pen the songs for such pop groups to sing, so this detail helps connect the listener with the ZOE's on a much more intimate level. This makes songs like the heartwrenching "Scream" seem all that more sincere and personal.

Although somewhat of an unnecessarily early collection of hits, With All Of My Heart remains a strong collection of power pop and pop/rock tunes geared towards the young female generation. Two new songs may be a lot to ask fans to buy a CD containing thirteen songs they most likely already have, but for those new to ZOEgirl's music, With All Of My Heart: The Greatest Hits may not be a bad place to start.
