Disciple has remained fresh over a 30+ year career by constantly tinkering with their brand of southern-tinged rock and metal, sometimes with subtle refinements and others with bold experimentations. "Resurrecting Reasons (feat. Decyfer Down)" falls into the former category. Musically, little has changed from the original version of the track released on 2023's Skeleton Psalms, while Decyfer Down's TJ Harris steps in to sing the second verse and later trades vocals with Kevin Young. While the original functions as a very effective bluesy post-grunge ballad, Harris's soulful feature serves as the perfect bridge between Young's grittier performance and the song's massive wailing guitar solos. It might not be a radical reimagining, but this updated version remains a compelling song for new and old listeners alike.
