In 2013, I had major surgery on my left tear duct to remove a painful obstruction. The operation was performed by two surgeons at one time because of the seriousness and delicate nature of the procedure. The surgery went well, but I suffered some complications during my recovery. When I saw both surgeons for my post-op visit, one of them told me that he didn’t expect the procedure to be successful in the long-run, and that I might need more surgery in the future. On the other hand, the other surgeon said that he fully expected the original surgery to take care of the problem.

I felt bewildered and discouraged, and I sought the Lord for His wisdom and guidance. I was impressed by the Spirit of God to get into agreement with the surgeon who believed that the surgery I just had would take care of the problem. The Holy Spirit warned me that if I got into fear and set my faith on the negative prognosis I was given, it could negatively affect my recovery. So, that day, I made a quality decision to agree with the surgeon who expected me to make a full and permanent recovery.

One thing I did was to pray, “Lord, show me how to cooperate with You for my healing, and to hasten it, rather than hinder it in any way.” It was then that He instructed me to speak to my tear ducts, and to command them to function properly. So, every day, I would confess – “In Jesus’ name, my tear ducts will NOT become blocked, obstructed, or infected. Tear ducts, you are open and clear, you are healed and whole, and you function as God created you to function!” I did this sometimes multiple times a day, and always with authority.

Scripture says: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23 NKJV) By making my confessions of recovery and restoration, I was getting into agreement with God, and His desire to heal me. Thirteen years later, my tear ducts are functioning properly, and I thank God that I resisted and refused the negative prognosis I received. Today, ask the Lord how this message might apply to you or your loved ones, and make up your mind to receive His absolute best!

Prayer: Lord, teach me how to get into agreement with Your perfect will for me in every situation and circumstance. Show me what confessions of faith You would like me to make, so that I can fully cooperate with You in the process. Thank You that as I resist and refuse every negative report outside of Your will, I will reap the harvest of breakthroughs and blessings that You have in store for me!
