When the Lord began dealing with me about my fearfulness associated with making decisions, He caused me to start hearing multiple teachings on our ability to hear from Him. One godly man that I saw on TV actually pointed to his audience and declared, "Don't EVER say that you don't know what to do about something." That really caught my attention, and I began studying verses in the Bible concerning divine wisdom and guidance, and meditating on them day and night.

One of the most powerful promises of God to followers of Christ concerning divine guidance is in First John 2:20 (NKJV): "You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things." Think about that. You and I can have knowledge of "ALL things" when we are living a Christ-centered life and believing this promise. The Amplified translation of this verse says that we have been "specially gifted and prepared by the Holy Spirit," who "teaches us, illuminates our minds, and guards us from error." What could you and I accomplish on this earth for God if we took these divine promises seriously?

Many years ago, I was suffering from a long-term illness when the Lord gave me a verse to stand on for my healing: "He knows just what to do, for God has made him see and understand." (Isaiah 28:26 TLB) Notice that it was not exactly what you would call a healing verse, but a verse for wisdom and direction. As I declared day and night, "I know just what to do, for God has made me see and understand," the Lord directed me to the exact remedies I needed, and my health drastically improved. Even where my recent health problems are concerned, as I began meditating on God's wisdom verses, it was like a light came on in my spirit, and the Lord revealed to me things that even my doctors couldn't discern.

One of the most popular promises of wisdom in the Bible is James 1:5-7 (AMP): "If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God's willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord." When we ask God for wisdom, we MUST expect Him to answer us. That kind of faith honors Him, and it brings great rewards. What are you facing today that just begs for the wisdom of God?

Prayer: Lord, I see in Your Word that You are more than willing to provide me with the wisdom I need in every situation and circumstance. Help me to spend regular time in Your presence and Your Word, and make me sensitive and obedient to Your voice. Thank You that as I seek out and apply Your wisdom in every decision, I will walk in the victory and success that You have in store for me!
