#18. Newsboys
In The Hands Of God

Release Date: May 5
It's exciting to know one of the major CCM supergroups are still churning out new music -- and new hits! GO was a delicious return to form, and while the title track seems to be hinting that this release could either be a third chapter in their worship venture or more along the lines of GO or Thrive, it'll just be a treat to hear new music from Newsboys...
        - John DiBiase

I'll be frank: I wasn't especially impressed with the Newsboys' pair of worship projects. My high hopes for the band, however, were restored with the release of Go, their arguably best record of the decade. However, this being the band's first studio album without Phil Joel on the bass (who started back in the Take Me To Your Leader era), it may shape their upcoming work into something unique from the Aussies...
        - Roger Gelwicks

Surprisingly, this band has held up well for being around 20 years. Very few groups still appeal to the youth after this amount of time, but they still sound as good as they did when I first heard their album Going Public in 1994. Go was a very enthusiastic release in 2006 and having the return of guitarist Jody Davis should make things all the more interesting in 2009...
