#11. House of Heroes
The Smoke - EP
Release Date: August 19, 2014
|
House of Heroes has been teasing us on Facebook with lyrics from their upcoming EP, and if ears could salivate...well, let's just say it'd be really gross. With the excellence of just about everything HOH does, I may have to do the rare pre-order for this release...

House of Heroes brought Christian rock back to a high standard, even if it took me longer than most to figure that out. Becoming a big deal in 2008, they become a more reliable and accomplished group with each successive album. These guys have been somewhat coy about their next project, but I feel assured that The Smoke EP will deliver.

OK, so we don't really have any idea when HOH's next album is coming, but signs are pointing towards a potential mid-to-late fall release. We DO know, though, that new music is on the way with The Smoke EP, and any new music from House of Heroes is easy to get excited about.

From an emo band to one of the best bands in the business, House of Heroes always brings it. Stylistically, their previous two projects seemed to mimic two of the biggest bands of rock history: First the Beatles, and then Queen. I'm super excited to see what these guys are bringing to the table this time.

It's rare for a band that's 16 years old to still have all of their original members (even if they tend to leave and come back), but bands like House of Heroes aren't just any other band. A breath of fresh air in an industry too often known for its mediocrity, they've been called the modern day Beatles, a comparison that is no surprise to a band who count the legendary Brits among their biggest influences. Since they've never been known to hold back, it will be interesting to see what they do with The Smoke EP, their first independent release in over a decade.
