#12. Sanctus Real
The Dream
Release Date: September 16, 2014

Even though the band's sound has changed over the years, slowing down from their energetic debut, to the more CCM-friendly releases we've seen recently, it's hard not to be excited about The Dream. Let's be honest; fans of their earlier albums have changed in the last 18 years too. One thing that's stayed the same though? Their powerful message, and ultimately, that's what really matters.

I've loved following Sanctus Real since their fast pop rock (label) debut back in 2002. While the past two albums have catered a bit more to the CCM pop radio crowd for my tastes, the promise of The Dream being a little more like older Sanctus Real has this original fan excited. Regardless, it's encouraging that this band is even still making new music in a time when bands barely stick it out past their debut!

They've become a staple in the CCM market. Personally, it feels like their past few albums have detoured from the sound that captured many fans, but I still hold out some crazy hope. In no way do I want to hear a repeat of one of their past recordings, but something of that caliber is definitely desirable.
