CALLED is an indie rock trio from Florida. They're a ministry-based band that supports churches, charities, and more. The band's debut album,
CALLED, released in 2022 and now they've just released their latest single, "He Leads Me," from their follow-up album
Ethos. The track has a classic rock sound that brings to mind bands like The Who, and the guitars are rocking throughout. A catchy riff drives most of the song and a brief, but fitting, guitar solo highlights things around the midway point. Lyrically, the song is about following Jesus - or more specifically, asking Him to lead. It starts off with the simple, yet true, declaration, "
Hey, hey, hey, everybody needs a Savior." The lyrics are basically a prayer of guidance from our Savior: "
Clean my hands and fill my Heart, I'm seeking Your face to do my part by living as You lead me." It's a great reminder that we should be following Jesus first and foremost; anything else will have us off track. The production here isn't bad and the track is mixed evenly. It's certainly not major label quality, but it is very listenable and done well. All in all, "He Leads Me" is a promising start for CALLED MUSIC's upcoming album. Rock fans, especially those with an affinity for classic rock, should give this one a listen.
