After dipping his toes into the waters of music production while working on his church's worship album, Austin, TX native Vicente Chung felt the urge to start making his own music. Under the name
the Found and the Lost, Chung drafted his first album, a self-titled dance pop album that he found himself not quite satisfied with.
x"-Mix is the result of retooling the album with better production and vocals. Listening to the albums side-by-side, there's quite a noticeable difference between the two. The instrumental tracks aren't drastically different (they sounded pretty good in the first place), but the other songs range from mildly to significantly improved. A couple of tracks were even slightly modulated, which I found interesting. Unfortunately, the vocals are entirely AI-produced, leaving the songs feeling empty and unnatural-sounding. The artificial vocals sound okay in some places, but are often shaky and occasionally flat, while sometimes forcing too many syllables into a melody, which ends up sounding awkward. Had the album featured real vocals,
x"-Mix would have been a solid dance pop/worship album. That being said, if you're okay with AI-generated content and you like what you hear,
x"-Mix does sound a lot better than the original version of the album, so you'll want to stick with this one.

JFH Staff's Second Opinion
The Lost and the Found is an electronic pop/EDM project featuring AI vocals. The music and tracks are self-produced, but the female vocals present in several of the tracks are produced by AI.
x"-Mix is a re-worked version of the 2022 self-titled release. This mix features several improvements, but most noticeable are the AI vocals. While the AI generated voice sounds nice at first listen, the stiff and robotic delivery of the vocal lines soon becomes very evident. The original version of these songs had very autotune-esque computer vocals, so the revamp here is a welcomed change. The lyrics themselves are very uplifting and Spirit-filled. Musically, the project is fairly standard for the genre. There are some nice beats and catchy moments, but the album stands out most with its closing track. The flamenco-inspired acoustic guitar is a breath of fresh air and adds a nice twist to the dance beats found earlier. "My Dearest One" is still a very danceable song, but it's one for a different kind of club. The Lost and the Found is a project with some interesting mixes. If the AI vocals don't bother you,
x"-Mix could provide some fun music, with a Christian message, to dance to.
