Mercy, is the cry of my heart
As I kneel down before You at the foot of the cross
Jesus have mercy, on a life torn apart
Where nothing's gained, and all is lost.
Expectations unmet, destiny denied.
I knew the truth, I chose the lie.
I'm so afraid of what I'll face on the other side,
That I'm crying out to you, Lord. ...
Lord, hear my cry.
I'm crying out for mercy, it's the cry of my heart
As I kneel down before You at the foot of the cross
Jesus have mercy, on a life torn apart
Where nothings gained, and all is lost.
Sin took me far, so far away.
Sin kept me longer than I'd ever planned to stay,
It cost me more than I could ever hope to pay.
Now I fear for my soul,
And I cry, cry to the Lord,
Jesus, have mercy,... it's the cry of my heart
As I kneel down before you at the foot of the cross.
Have mercy, on a life torn apart.
Where nothings gained, and all is lost.
(Solo over chorus)
The Lord heard my prayer before I said a word.
He saw that I was broken, I was ready to turn.
He took me by His side, just the way I am.
And I know He loves me,
I've been born again.
Jesus showed me mercy; He heard the cry my heart,
I knelt down before Him at the foot of the cross
Jesus is mercy to a life tom apart
He gives grace to the hopeless and hope to the lost.
Mercy.......
