If I step out of the ash
On a road that I don’t know
If everyone around me
Is asleep and I stand alone
If everything I’ve built
and castles’ walls come down
If I missed my chance
For this skipping record
to ever make a sound
Will I meet You there?
Will I meet You there?

It was only Your promise that broke through the pain
To expect to see You when the night becomes day
Though in the time it felt too much to bear
I know You’d say the same
‘That I’d do it all again
Just to meet you there’

If the mirror still reminds me
Of the scars that didn’t fade
If my story has been written
But there’s lies on every page
If shadows cloud my vision
Only uncertainty is known
If battles are before me
If I lose my home
Will I meet You there?
I will meet You there

It was only Your promise that broke through the pain
To expect to see You when the night becomes day
Though in the time it felt too much to bear
I know You’d say the same
‘That I’d do it all again
Just to meet you there’

Why would You meet me?
What would it be to You?
What could I give You?
There’s nothing that I could do
Your love takes me right where I am
My love will take You for my King

When it’s hard to believe You see
a scattered mess like me
When I’m scared that I won’t find You
in the hour of my need
If all I can offer is broken
But I lay it at Your feet
And You tell me to rejoice
But my voice is far too weak
Will You meet me there?
Jesus, You’ll meet me there

It was only Your promise that broke through the pain
To expect to see You when the night becomes day
Though in the time it felt too much to bear
I know You’d say the same
‘That I’d do it all again
Just to meet you there’
