Why did you go to the bar, and crash your car, and forget it all in the end?
Where did your morals go, while the poison flows, have I lost a valuable friend?
Your meaning has ebbed away as the air turns gray, choking out all that we had,
You forgot all that was, and it's all because the good now looks like the bad.

You've taken the winner's stance with a victory dance as you strike hidden defeat,
How could you be so blind, watch your life unwind? Each sip becomes bittersweet,
Your emotions have disappeared, now you have no fear, so you run right into the lies,
Darkness consumes your way through the night and day when you don't open your eyes,
Darkness consumes your way through the night and day when you don't open your eyes.

Hope has not flown away, it remains today, and that will never change,
The Maker has left His mark, placed a smoldering spark, given you a secret name.
Hope has not flown away, it remains today, and that will never change,
The Maker has left His mark, placed a smoldering spark in your heart, a burning flame, a burning flame.

Open your eyes, He calls your name,
Open your eyes, don't keep the light at bay.
Open your eyes, He calls your name,
Open your eyes, don't keep the light at bay.
