Our wants and desires reduced to dreams
To mourn them we’d squander all our blessings

If we should falter, my dear, I know He’ll pick us up
Don’t look down at the waves when the sea gets rough

What is this world without its troubles?
A thorn to humble the rose

Endurance for the race before us
Peace to keep us all alive
We pray for life we do not know

What is this world without its troubles?
A thorn to humble the rose
I’m here to give you strength, My child
Whether the pain comes or goes

Deny thyself
Push on through hell

What is this world without its troubles?
(even though you cannot see…)
A thorn to humble the rose
(I have overcome the world)
I’m here to give you strength, My child
Whether the pain comes or goes
