I opened the door
He had bloodshot eyes
He pleaded to me
I need a place to hide
But I shook my head
And thought what has he done
Something was different
The smell on his breath
He said it's not what you think, son
Give it a rest
But I kept thinking
What has he done

I said the devil's behind me
And I'm on the run
Try'na shake off these vices
Can you help me, son

I said I'm not the son
That you're looking for
If you're seeking refuge
I know the one you're looking for
He can shake off those vices
That are keeping you bound
'Cause even satan himself and his armies
Never could take him down

We sat there in silence
Seems like hours passed by
Then he reached for my hand
And started to cry
But I kept thinking
What has he done

I said I know that I've hurt you
I'm not a good man
Even though I don't deserve it
Please give me a chance
I sobered up before I can to your door
Won't you please forgive me
I don't wanna be this any more

He said I'm not the son
That you're looking for
If you're seeking refuge
I know the one you're looking for
He can shake off those vices
That are keeping you bound
'Cause even satan himself and his armies
Never could take him down

I fell to my knees
With tears in my eyes
And I pleaded to Jesus
I need a place to hide
He said I am the Son
