Burning Like The Midnight Sun cover
09. It Should Have Been Obvious
Album: Burning Like The Midnight Sun
Artist: The Choir

Stars and stripes and bibles waving
They crushed the heart of original nations
The cross of Christ on fire a shameful
Misrepresentation
We’ve gotta look up to see the light
We’ve gotta look in to know what’s right
Hey, we’ve gotta look inside

It should’ve been obvious
It should’ve been obvious
It should’ve been obvious
But it wasn’t to them
And it isn’t to us

Yeah, that was me
The self-appointed
Judge of your own orientation
I studied law at the blind man’s school
Of cruel indoctrination
We’ve gotta look up to see the light
We’ve gotta look in to know what’s right
Hey, we’ve gotta look inside

It should have been obvious…

We can load our guns, close our minds
Take the bad medicine makin’ us blind
But love is the blue star burnin’ in the dark
Mercy is the silver pearl buried in our hearts

We’ve gotta look up to see the light
We’ve gotta look in to know what’s right
Hey, we’ve gotta look inside

It should have been obvious…
