Between Thieves cover
09. Lay It Down
Album: Between Thieves
Artist: Between Thieves

Trying to create a world view perfect me
Conviction, hope and love gave way to vanity
I'll try to change, I'll try to learn
My word's a hollow sound
But then I heard You call to me,
"Oh child lay it down"

Chorus
Security in frailty
Your touch I have found
In brokenness I'm made complete
And I will lay it down

Days of broken promises now have passed me by
But covered in Your crimson blood, I've been justified
In Your word and in Your love a purpose I have found
I give to you all I am
I will lay me down

Chorus

Isolation was so happy in my fractured heart
In the play I wrote I could not play my part
But You will never leave me, You love me as I am
So I am letting go, take this broken man

Chorus
