Ooohhh oh oh oh
Ohhhhh oh oh oh
I used to live my life for me
I was never down on my knees
I went to church just to sit in the seat
I used to love to do nothing
Salvation got a hold of me
I was broken down and hurting
Redemption came as a wave of relief
But then it followed with a burden
Thought that I would be living easy
Til I finally heard the word’s You were speaking
If you’re mine you will shine
So it’s time to get up, Oh
I’m sick of just sitting around, yeah
It’s time to get up, oh
If you’re listening to the sound, yeah
It’s time to get up
Cause all the people on the mezzanine floor
We can’t forget what we were made for
It’s time to get up
Cause our hands were made for reaching out, yeah
So it’s time to get up
Ooohhh oh ohoh
Ohhhhh oh oh oh
Maybe you’ve been just like me
Maybe blind, unaware unseen
Maybe you’ve been living for peace
For no one but yourself
There’s a lot to do and the workers are few
He’s speaking to me and He’s speaking to you
Saying, If you’re mine you will shine
So it’s time to get up, Oh
If you’re sick of just sitting around, yeah
It’s time to get up, oh
If you’re listening to the sound, yeah
It’s time to get up
Cause all the people on the mezzanine floor
We can’t forget what we were made for
Cause our hands were made for reaching out, yeah
So it’s time to get up
Hey, oh!
You need to know that,
We’re not afraid to show it
We’re gonna live so the world will know that
We shine with the light of the Son
Hey, oh!
You need to know that,
We’re not afraid to show it
We’re gonna live so the world will know that
We shine with the light of the Son
Ooohhh oh ohoh
Ohhhhh oh oh oh
So it’s time to get up, Oh
Sick of just sitting around, yeah
It’s time to get up, oh
If you’re listening to the sound, yeah
It’s time to get up
Cause all the people on the mezzanine floor
We can’t forget what we were made for
Cause our hands were made for reaching out, yeah
So it’s time to get up
Ooohhh oh ohoh
Ohhhhh oh oh oh
So it’s time to get up

Behind the Song:“We didn’t want to have any songs on the record that weren’t lyrically thought-provoking. ‘Get Up’ is a fun song, but it’s also focused on saying, ‘Hey! We’ve got things to do. We can’t just sit around and enjoy our big ‘ole massive churches and not be the hands of Jesus.’ If we are who we say we are, then we should have a burden for those out there and that requires action. The gospel is living, breathing. Christ is living, breathing, and calling us to action and that’s where ‘Get Up’ came from.” - Jason Roy
