Can we get back to where we started?
When creation lived peacefully in Your hands
Before the wars began
All these years we have been divided
Jesus’ voice has been gently calling us home
And we can’t wait anymore
Lord, we feel You now
Wanting to come down and teach us how to …
Sing, oh, sing with one voice
How sweet it will be when we sing
One church under one King
And we will sing!
Pride has no purpose in God’s kingdom
Now’s the time for His church to join hands again
Oh, together we must stand
Lord, we need You now
Send Your spirit down and free us as we …
Hear the voices ringing out, “We will stand together now!”
Hear the voices singing loud, “Live in peace!” “Live in peace!”
“You are King! You are Lord! We will sing!”
Let the church of God ring out, “We will stand together now”
Hear the voices singing loud, “There is only one King!”

Behind the Song:'When this song presented itself we were stuck on the first line forever. We only had the guitar part and the lyric, but felt it was worth writing a song around. Soon after that came the chorus, but it wasn't the one you hear now. It's common during the song-writing process to get hung up on what the general point of the song should be. We finally landed on the theme of unity, specifically in the church, and the rest fell into place -kind of. This one was definitely a hard song to finish; we had tons of different lyrics and parts -a lot of noise to filter through. Wouldn't you know that in the end the song wound up being about peace, simplicity, and unity? The idea of one voice under one King.' - Chris Rohman (
