Charlie Daniels invited Third Day's Mac Powell
on stage at the Grand Ole Opry to sing the Charlie Daniels Band version of, “I’ll Fly Away.” This, Mac’s very first appearance on
the Opry, was initiated by a call from long time friend, Daniels. After performing the classic, “Devil Went Down To Georgia,”
Daniels introduced his friend and now, duet partner, by saying, “We have a very special guest that’s going to come out and sing
this next song with us. We’re very honored to have him; he is a fine young man and a member of one of the hottest Christian groups
in the country, Third Day. Would you please welcome Mac Powell!” Following the lively performance, the sold out crowd erupted in
applause and a standing ovation.
