Justin Anderson, vocalist of BEC Recordings pop/rock band Mainstay announced
today news of a recent accident the singer was involved in just before the holidays last month. Anderson was involved
in a head-on collision while driving through Littleton, CO, and thankfully only sustained minor injuries. Anderson writes...
"At about 7:10 am, on Dec. 22nd (Saturday) I was traveling eastbound on C470 through Littleton, CO when a car going WESTbound flew out of control, came across the median, and hit me head on. I was in extreme shock, but (praise God) only sustained minor injuries. The airbag deployed and I was wearing my seatbelt. However, my driver's side window shattered into my face, but broke well and only have a few cuts on my face.As in many collisions, I didn't realize until about 10 min after the accident that I had a concussion (that's right everyone...AGAIN). I was taken to the emergency room of course, and the emergency room doctor said it was a miracle that I was even walking on two feet, let alone alive after a head-on-collision when I was going 60. After sitting the in ER for 5 hours and having multiple X-rays, I was discharged with a neck-brace and told to take it EXTREMELY easy - the X-rays showed no immediate, immense damage to my spine, although the doctor thinks I may have incurred some fractures and other smaller injuries to my spine.
Ever since I went into the ER the other day, I can't move my neck or back more than a few centimeters before there is intense pain.
This has been an amazing experience... God spared my life in what easily could have been a fatal accident, and not only that, but I can walk, talk, don't have any deep cuts on my face, and came away with only whiplash injuries. I feel so blessed to say that God did a miracle in making the crash perfect, to allow me to not only to survive, but to be able to walk away from it. I will most likely have to deal with a bunch of pain and physical therapy on my neck and back for the next few weeks/months, but I will surely be ok, and can't believe how blessed I am to only have sustained these "minor" injuries.
If you could pray for my neck as I go in for these next set of X-rays, I would really appreciate it. I would like to avoid surgery if possible, and am praying nothing is fractured, cracked, or messed up, and that some physical therapy and healing time will take care of the mess that is currently my neck and back.
I am so grateful for each of you! But more than that, I am grateful for a God who designed this intense saturday for my good, and shows His faithfulness at all times, even when times are really hard. I cannot begin to tell you how blessed I feel to be able to walk away from this accident. God is so good to me.
Justin"
