February 20, 2008 – SALVADOR, Christian music’s explosively successful break-thru Latin Jam band, has signed an exclusive booking representation agreement with the Nashville based Christian Division of The Agency for the Performing Arts (APA).
Announcement was made today by APA Christian Division head, Mark Guynn from the agency’s Nashville office. With major offices in Beverly Hills, New York, and Nashville, APA is one of the largest full service talent/literary agencies in the U.S., representing top artists in all genres of music, as well as theater, movie, and literary clients.
Guynn noted in making the announcement of the acquisition of Salvador, that APA is adding another agent to its' rapidly expanding Christian Division. Veteran Christian industry agent, JR Montes has joined the APA team, coming to the agency from Michael Smith & Associates, where he served as in-house agent and co-manager of their artist roster for the last five years.
Montes addition to APA further underscores the firm’s commitment to it's growth as a “Top 3” among major Nashville agencies offering a full service division devoted solely to the representation of the Christian market. Commented Guynn: “Seldom do you come across someone with the level of professionalism, work ethic, and commitment displayed consistently by JR Montes. Our entire agency will benefit from his experience and strong industry relationships.”
SALVADOR will tour the U.S. beginning in March with Jaci Velasquez, following immediately with a May European tour. Their much anticipated new album, Aware, streets April 29th from Word Records, with a title track single reaching Christian radio this month. Dove Award winners for ‘Spanish Language Album Of The Year,” the group has garnered multiple Billboard Latin Music Award honors in their chart history of Top 5 radio hits. Their most recent single, "Shine," stayed at the top of the Christian radio charts for 18 weeks, earning “Song Of The Year” honors from ASCAP.
Salvador has toured extensively since exploding onto the mainstage in Christian music in 2000 with their unique blend of soulful music with a Latin influence, underscored by dynamic stage performances. Key national exposure with The Billy Graham Crusades, as well as crusades with both Franklin and Will Graham, Teen Mania’s Acquire The Fire youth conferences, and national Promise Keepers events, have highlighted their touring.
Noting their addition at APA, Mark Guynn commented: “We are thrilled to add a band of the caliber of Salvador to our roster, and we anticipate through the new alliance that this will be a major breakthrough year for them to go to new levels in touring and visibility.”
APA has recently moved its' staff to larger offices at 3010 Poston Avenue in Nashville.
