From the current American Idol hopefuls to new Top 40 hit maker Sara Bareilles, spring 2008 is a season of promising new artists.
Add recent college graduate Josh Wilson to that list of ones to watch when his debut
album, TRYING TO FIT THE OCEAN IN A CUP, releases April 29 via Sparrow Records (EMI).
Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Wilson cites John Mayer among others as a major influence and is a uniquely talented guitar player and vocalist in his own right. He has just earned a degree from Nashville’s Belmont University and is hitting the airwaves now with his fun yet thoughtful first single “3 Minute Song” which likens singing about God’s greatness to “trying to fit the ocean in a cup.”
“Sometimes I can’t help but feel overwhelmed when I’m writing about faith, about love, about God,” Josh says. “That’s why I wrote ‘3 Minute Song.’ We don’t have enough words to communicate God’s love and his plan for others, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try.”
