New York, NY -- (June 3, 2008) – Integrity Music’s Joel Augé (pronounced “Ojhay”)
will be exposed to millions of music fans this week as iTunes names his debut album’s first single “So Deep In Love”
as its Single of the Week, offering the song as a free download in the iTunes Store’s Discovery Download promotion.
“So Deep In Love” will be offered free for one week, starting today. The song will receive prime placement on iTunes front page. iTunes Discovery Download offers enormous exposure for new artists and has helped to launch the careers of artists like Duffy and Daniel Powter.
iTunes describes Augé was chosen for this week’s Discovery Download: “Augé’s mixture of worship music and emotional alt-rock rings makes a solid case for being one of the highlights of 2008. The album mixes up folk and pop with piano pop and Augé’s own transcendent vocals.”
“So Deep In Love” is a ballad that is musically reminiscent of UK bands like Coldplay and Keane and was inspired by Ephesians 3:17-19. It is also the first radio single and precedes the Canadian worship artist and songwriter’s release of his eclectic and authentic debut CD, On The Blue, on July 1st.
Worship Musician Magazine’s early review of the debut effort says, “Augé’s artistry, startling voice and very capable songwriting ability will eventually lead them to value the album as the fine work of art it is.”
Augé promises listeners of On The Blue will see “an authentic reflection of my heart, to say real things to God and not ‘pretty it up.’ These are truth songs.”
On The Blue’s 12 songs are about life, faith and love, are vertically inspired and often introspective. All are delivered on a canvas of art-rock, folk and pop by Augé, with help from producer Stephen Leiweke, who has recently been getting acclaim for his work with the (American Idol finalist) Chris Sligh debut CD.
Augé who hails from Ontario where he serves as a worship leader for The Meeting House family of churches will travel throughout North America this summer promoting his new music.
Integrity Music will release On The Blue to Christian retail stores on July 1 through Provident-Integrity Distribution and to mainstream retail outlets through SONY-BMG. In addition, it will be distributed by Integrity International to 160 countries and will be available online at www.integritydirect.com.
