(Nashville, TN) – July 24, 2008 – Fervent Records is thrilled to announce the release of Francesca Battistelli’s My Paper Heart, the newest signing to their talented and unique roster of artists. This young singer / songwriter has, in fact, been ready to share her adventurous musical talents since she was just a mere six years old. Her major label debut, which features the Top 3 CHR radio hit, “I’m Letting Go,” (the single is #4 at AC Monitored, #5 AC Indicator) released this week through Word Distribution.
Battistelli’s songs have already been touted as music that offers hope and encouragement for all ages, while My Paper Heart has been earning rave reviews from the critics. From her “soulful,” “passionate” and “rich” voice (even with a comparison to the late Eva Cassidy), to remarks about her poignant talent as a songwriter, Battistelli has been or is set to be featured in outlets such as: All Access, MTV/Think, AOL.com, Music Confidential, BackseatWriter.com, Encounter Magazine, Sharing the Victory, About.com, CMCentral, Christian Single Magazine, On Course, TheBridgeLive.net, and much, much more!
Here’s a sneak peak into what key media outlets are saying:
“With stellar singing, advanced songwriting skills and a sure sense of who she is as an artist, Battistelli embarks on what is sure to be a rewarding career (for her AND her listeners) with her stellar debut.” - Christian Musician
“The buoyant accept-yourself-as-you-are anthem, ‘Free To Be Me,’ is an album highlight, and the album is a highlight among recent Christian pop releases.” – CBA Retailers+Resources
“Whatever one’s preference…music fans should make plans to buy this album.” –Christian Retailing
“This young singer/songwriter reaches out with her smooth piano-pop style, which is much more adult contemporary oriented than sugar-coated bubble gum teenage pop. Keep your eyes and ears on this young lady, because she is definitely here to stay!”- Jesusfreakhideout.com
“The album stands out for several reasons…The overall message—one of identity, belonging, and utter reliance on Christ—plus her extremely likable style render My Paper Heart one of the strongest pop debuts in Christian music this year, while positioning this young chanteuse as a new talent to watch in years to come.” - Andree Farias for Christian Music Today
“Francesca Battistelli obviously has the vocal chops…My Paper Heart hits all of the marks…All of the songs have a real beginning, middle and end, and avoid using repetitive riffs, synths, and beat boxes in favor of traditional songwriting… this succeeds at being a strong Christian pop album that will appeal to the wide audience…” – Soul Audio
To kick off street week, Battistelli appeared Tuesday morning on JoyFM’s Morning Cruise radio show while topping off the evening with a JoyFM event in Tampa. She visited with the staff of Strang Publications, located near Orlando, on Wednesday, ending her day performing to over 1,000 fans at her not-to-be-missed CD release party (photos attached below), joining with radio station WPOZ at Northland Church in Longwood, FL.
Battistelli is booked by The Greg Oliver Agency (goa-inc.com), and is managed by Proper Management.
