Andrew Peterson (NASHVILLE, TN) OCTOBER 3, 2008 -- Celebrated singer/songwriter and author Andrew Peterson recently announced dates for his highly anticipated and critically acclaimed Christmas tour, which features special guests and friends Bebo Norman, Jill Phillips, Andy Gullahorn, Andrew Osenga, Todd Bragg, Garett Buell, Cason Cooley, Gabe Scott and Ben Shive. This euphonic event features Peterson's acclaimed Christmas song cycle, Behold The Lamb Of God: The True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ. The tour begins December 2nd in Elkhorn, NE, which will mark the 9th year that Peterson and friends have taken their Christmas concert on the road. A complete list of cities and dates can be found at www.andrew-peterson.com.

Nine years ago, Peterson composed his musical rendition of the Christmas story to remind people of the holiday's true significance. Since then, he and a remarkable band have performed the songs each holiday season to sold-out crowds nationwide, as well as a highlighted performance in Peterson's hometown of Nashville, TN at the famed Ryman Auditorium. Past events have featured such artists as Alison Krauss, Buddy Miller, David Wilcox, Phil Keaggy, Mindy Smith, Pierce Pettis, Matt Slocum and members of Nickel Creek, who have joined Peterson for an in-the-round segment of original material before gathering on stage to perform his musical, Behold the Lamb of God: The True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ.

Responding to demand from fans of his Christmas concert, in 2004, Peterson recorded the songs on an album titled Behold the Lamb of God. The album received the 2004 Best Album of the Year, World Christian Music's Editors Choice Award.

Peterson has long been known for his intricate songwriting and transparent candor on stage, often drawing comparisons to predecessor Rich Mullins. While signed to Watershed/Essential Records from 1999 to early 2004, Peterson recorded three national releases including his award-winning Carried Along, which featured the top ten radio single, "Nothing to Say," and a Dove Award nomination for his song "Family Man" from his 2003 release Love & Thunder. Since completing his last album, The Far Country, independently, Peterson recently signed on with Centricity Music for the Resurrection Letters, Volume II release, which will be available on October 21st.

Peterson also released his ?rst novel in 2008 entitled On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness through WaterBrook Press. Full of fast-paced storytelling, fanciful songs and poems, hilarious asides, and characters rich in heart, courage, and smarts, On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness, launches a highly- anticipated series of fantasy novels that readers of all ages will treasure, enjoy reading aloud, and use in stirring book group discussion. Peterson also released his ?rst children?s book entitled The Ballad of Matthew's Begats in October 2007 through Thomas Nelson.
