Nashville, Tenn. Apr. 27, 2009… iShine Live recently announced plans to partner with world-renowned philanthropic organizations Make-A-Wish Foundation ® and World Vision allowing tweens to attend the spring 2009 tour free of charge.
“These partnerships are incredibly powerful because we never wanted the cost of a ticket to prevent anyone from attending the show and hearing about their true identity,” says iShine Live founder Robert Beeson.
The now non-ticketed tour will kick off this weekend with a stop in Lubbock, TX. For a complete list of tour dates, please see the schedule below or visit www.iShineLive.com. Since iShine Ministries, a non-profit organization, is funding the tour there will be a love offering taken in each market.
In each market, plans are underway to reach out to Make-A-Wish children in each of the designated tour cities. Former Make-A-Wish child and bone cancer survivor Paige Armstrong is the featured speaker on the iShine Live tour. Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation ® has granted over 178,000 wishes worldwide and enlisting a network of nearly 25,000 volunteers. For more information, visit www.wish.org.
Bringing awareness to the global need and emphasizing that each child has a purpose, World Vision will be making child sponsorships available to families at each iShine Live event. Founded in 1950, World Vision is a Christian humanitarian charity organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. They serve currently 100 million people in nearly 100 countries and are a notable partner in the Christian music community.
American Heritage Girls are also joining in on the action partnering with iShine Live to get their individual troops involved in the show. Each troop will be competing to have the most concertgoers for a pizza party reward in each tour market. The troops are also working to raise money for fundraising goals for their own organization.
This spring tour will feature performances from The Rubyz, Mission Six, Jasmine, Logan Charles, Jamie-Grace and speaker and former Make-A-Wish child Paige Armstrong as well as special guest performances from teen actor Luke Benward.
TBN debuted “iShine KNECT” this month, an iCarly style show that features the iShine Live crew. The series features interview, fan questions and performances. “iShine KNECT” will air on TBN on Saturdays at 8:30am PST and on Smile of a Child TV on Saturdays at 3pm PST.
The network will also be airing a concert special with the entire cast slated for sometime this year. To find where TBN is airing in your market, go to www.tbn.org.
