Rebecca St. James was key among those in the Christian music industry welcoming Miss California, Carrie Prejean to the Dove Awards in Nashville last week. Heavily in the news headlines recently for her stand on Christian values in the Miss USA competition, on her Nashville visit backstage at the Doves Carrie specifically asked to meet Rebecca, who she called "a major role model in my life." St. James has had a bold stand on faith and values issues throughout her career in Christian music. She noted: "I'm very supportive of Carrie's stand for her beliefs in the face of national media--I applaud her!"
