New York, NY – June 29, 2009 – Recently, Taqa Records artist Barry D. visited American Bible Society in New York City where he was the guest artist for their “Celebrating Black Music Month” which included a tribute to the recently passed Rev. Timothy Wright. Barry D. performed multiple songs from his popular Stellar and Dove Award Nominated album out now titled Born To Play to a very touched and receptive audience.
Barry D. states, “It was a great honor and blessing to use the gift that God has given me to touch the lives of the people at American Bible Society. It was truly a great moment in time for me to help pay tribute to an American Gospel Icon such as Rev. Timothy Wright and Black Gospel Music, the music that I grew up listening to and playing as a child.”
A few months ago, Barry D. was honored to perform an ultimate showcase when he played during the entire 2-hour pre-show of the Dove Awards. American Bible Society, a sponsor of the Dove Awards, noticed him and asked him to be involved in special celebration.
