September 14, 2009 – EMI Christian Music Group, Provident Music Group, and Word Entertainment announce their continuing partnership in the WOW brand with the October 6 release of WOW Hits 2010. With 7 #1s, 11 top 5, and 3 top 10 Christian radio songs, WOW Hits 2010 marks the 15th two-disc release of the platinum-selling series that compiles the best songs from Christian radio at an incredible value for the consumer. The entire WOW branded series (Worship, Gospel, Hits, and specialty releases) now tops 22 MILLION units in sales.
Also releasing October 6 is the WOW Hits 2010: The Videos DVD, featuring 26 selections from the year’s top Christian artists and music video hits. Both the CD and DVD will receive prime positioning throughout the holiday season at all Christian and mainstream retail outlets.
Featuring 30 songs on two CDs, the WOW Hits 2010 compilation provides Christian music fans hit songs from today’s top Christian artists including Jeremy Camp’s “There Will Be A Day,” Tenth Avenue North’s “By Your Side,” Third Day’s “Revelation,” Matthew West’s “The Motions,” Francesca Battistelli’s “Free To Be Me,” Casting Crowns’ “Slow Fade,” Chris Tomlin’s “I Will Rise,” Big Daddy Weave’s “What Would Life Be Like,” Newsboys’ “In The Hands Of God,” Brandon Heath’s “Wait And See,” BarlowGirl’s “Beautiful Ending,” and tobyMac’s brand new single “City On Our Knees” from his upcoming February 2010 release.
This year WOW will launch a new website in partnership with HearItFirst.com. WOWilovechristianmusic.com will be the new online home for the entire WOW brand starting with WOW Hits 2010. The website will feature video interviews from WOW artists, music videos, and an interactive forum for fans to share their WOW stories about how the songs have affected their lives. The new website is scheduled to launch September 22.
KLOVE will be host to several radio contests sponsored by WOW, including fly-aways to concerts with WOW artists. Other radio markets will host The Ultimate CD giveaway where a lucky winner will receive a free CD for every day of the year, sponsored by WOW Hits 2010. That’s 365 CDs, enough to start any Christian music fan’s collection!
