(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Nov.19, 2009 - The Gospel Music Association officially announces its calendar of events for the 2010 season. Among the year's key events are GMA Dove Week, the 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards, and IMMERSE 2010.
GMA Dove Week 2010, a newly structured Gospel Music Week, will kick off Monday, April 19 with the ASCAP Christian Music Awards. The week will additionally include an Artist Summit and the BMI Christian Music Awards.
Similar to GRAMMY Week or CMA Week, GMA Dove Week will also feature showcases and professional networking opportunities, most driven independently. The GMA will help to coordinate and promote such events along with other activities taking place during the week. Parties interested in hosting an event during this week should contact Angilee Smith at 615.277.1376.
GMA Dove Week 2010 will culminate in the 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards to be held on Wednesday, April 21. Additional details are forthcoming.
In addition to GMA Dove Week and the GMA Dove Awards, GMA's highly-regarded IMMERSE will return to Belmont University July 28-31, 2010. IMMERSE will bring together artists, songwriters, musicians, worship leaders, music business students, industry experts and more in a celebration of music and learning. Events traditionally reserved for Gospel Music Week, such as the highly successful Songwriters' Showcase and Evening Worship Service, will be available to attendees as well as concerts from top Christian artists. Additional information to follow in the coming months.
In 2010, the GMA will continue its advocacy, networking and educational efforts on behalf of its members who come from all aspects of Gospel music and believe strongly in its mission to expose, promote and celebrate the Gospel through music.
