Nashville, TN— 2009 “Comedian Of The Year” -- Visionary Awards Christian Music Hall Of Famer -- stand-up Christian comedian and best-selling author CHONDA PIERCE, who has released four certified platinum comedy DVDs, has been nominated for three Daytime Emmys, authored six top-selling books, and ranks amongst Pollstar’s top-selling live performers, will release her ninth comedy DVD on No Whining Records-Provident/Sony titled DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD? on April 6; she is also embarking on a national DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD? tour in conjunction with the release.
With her latest DVD titled STAYIN’ ALIVE recently going certified Platinum, Chonda releases her ninth comedy DVD, DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD? For the first time ever, Chonda answers questions from the audience, allowing Chonda to do what she does best – saying out loud whatever pops into her mind. Travel with Chonda to Hollywood as psychic readers, Botox booths, women with dogs in their purses, health food stores, juice bars and new agers all get their Chakras “pierced” in this hilarious new DVD. Back home in the South, Chonda goes to church and finds flying wigs in the cemetery, a member who may be paying their tithe with Bar-B-Q, women eating hockey pucks, stiff people and unusual vacations.
Chonda, a frequent guest on the Grand Ole Opry, also co-hosts “Aspiring Women,” a talk show on the Total Living Network, and her comedy is regularly featured on XM/Sirius Satellite radio; she also contributes commentary for InStyle magazine’s red carpet fashion pages. Her comedy special This Aint Prettyville has aired on CMT four times, and she has appeared on Backstage at the Opry on TNN, Country Crossroads, and the Dennis Miller Show. Chonda’s first break came when she began imitating her idol Grand Ole Opry star Minnie Pearl – word spread, and Chonda began performing to sell-out crowds in churches across the country with her own stand-up routine.
