SEATTLE, WA -- October 26, 2010 -- Following a packed summer of touring with the Vans Warped Tour in the Girlz Garage, sister duo Poema is thrilled to announce their digital holiday release, “Once A Year,” on November 16th. This five-song digital release features two original tracks and three classics (track listing below). It will be available digitally for $4.99. Following the holidays, Poema will continue to work on their full-length debut for 2011.
"We're so thankful to have been able to record this Christmas EP,” shares Poema. “Our earliest studio experiences were recording Christmas songs in our dad's studio, so recording this EP was almost like going back to our roots. It was really an incredible time. Also, being able to work with Aaron Marsh was marvelous! The collaboration turned into something wonderfully unanticipated, and we are extremely proud of it. We love the EP and hope the feeling is mutual for the listeners! Hopefully this is one of many to come!"
Tooth & Nail Records introduced the world to Poema with their debut EP, “Sing It Now,” earlier this year to rave reviews saying: “(Poema is) refreshing, introspective, and very ‘chill’” and “it's an undeniably attractive release, and Poema's future looks bright as a result.” Two sisters from Albuquerque, NM, Shealeen and Elle, grew up in a close-knit family where music was an integral part of their life. Shaeleen has been classically trained in piano for over 11 years, and Elle basically taught herself to play guitar. Poema describes their sound as “happy, acoustic-pop.”
