Nashville, TN -March 11, 2011-The New Year is off to a great start for Curb Records' Contemporary Christian trio, No Other Name. The group kicked off 2011 with their first Gospel Music Association Dove Award for New Artist of the Year, a category voted on by fans. They'll be vying for the honor with some of Christian music's most exciting new stars including Audrey Assad, Chris August, Forever Jones, John Mark McMillan, Kerrie Roberts and Kristian Stanfill. The 2011 Dove Awards will be held in Atlanta at the historic Fox Theatre's Grand Salon on April 20. Fan voting is open now and will continue thru April 19th. Signed with Curb Records in 2008, No Other Name consists of brother and sister, Sam and Laura Allen, along with their good friend Chad Smith. The group was formed when the Chad and Laura were students at Nashville's Belmont University. Since catching the eye of Curb Records Chairman, Mike Curb, the group has been writing, recording and logging countless miles getting acquainted with radio programmers.

During their 2010 touring season, No Other Name promoted and encouraged believers to participate in local and international missions. In addition, the group provided concert attendees with an opportunity to get involved with one of their own international mission trips. In June of 2010 they embarked on a trip to Managua, Nicaragua, taking along a team of fans who signed up at the group's shows.

In June of 2011, No Other Name will hit the road for their second mission trip, this year to Sao Paulo, Brazil. Again, they'll be taking along a team of fans who signed up during their Fall 2010 tour. The main objective of this trip is evangelism with targeted work in slum ministries, children's ministry, community Bible studies and evangelistic sports activities. In addition, the group will be working with some collegiate ministries at various universities located in Sao Paulo.

According to Laura, the group is anxious to start packing, "We are getting so excited about our trip. We cannot wait to meet everyone who signed up to go with us and experience what God has in store for us in His kingdom work. We have met the missionary we'll be working with, and he is ready to put us to work!"
