(Nashville, Tenn.) March 17, 2011 – Drawing on real-life experiences near to the hearts of its members and extended family of friends, GRAMMY, AMA and Dove Award winning, Atlanta-based rock band Third Day uses the issue of adoption as a metaphor for God’s love in the video for its latest single, “Children of God.”

“Children of God” is the second single from the band’s 11th studio project, MOVE, and features footage of families with adopted children, denoted by t-shirts emblazoned with the word “adopted.” The families (including that of Third Day’s lead vocalist Mac Powell, who recently welcomed adopted son Emmanuel and daughter Birdie) eventually all don the signature white t-shirts, revealing the idea that we’re all adopted into the family of God.

“Children of God,” released to AC radio on December 31, 2010, has accumulated an impressive 58 million cumulative radio impressions. The video was directed by Ry Cox, and can be seen on Third Day’s channel on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/thirddaychannel#p/u/0/V6jO7xhU_Pw.

This new video release is merely the latest item in a very busy spring for Third Day. Long known as the premier live touring rock band in Christian music, Third Day is in the midst of a 40-city tour supporting its most recent full-length release MOVE. The “Make Your Move” tour runs through May 21 in West Palm Beach, Fla.

A recent Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee (2009), Third Day has garnered 24 career GMA Dove Awards from 47 nominations, 4 GRAMMY Awards (with 11 career nominations), an American Music Award (with 3 American Music Award nominations) and multiple ASCAP honors for songwriting.

Third Day has been featured by top media outlets including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (NBC), “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” (CBS), “60 Minutes” (CBS), ABC’s “Nightline,” USA Today, the New York Times, and even graced the cover of Billboard magazine, which called Third Day “one of the best rock bands.” As a top-ranked touring band, according to Pollstar magazine, Third Day has played for audiences reaching into the millions.
