
(Nashville, Tenn.) Oct. 7, 2011 -- The soundtrack to Sherwood Pictures’ acclaimed movie, Courageous, will be available via physical retail outlets beginning Oct. 18. The film, which debuted at No. 4 and was the No. 1 new movie at box offices nationwide this weekend, features Casting Crowns’ current hit radio single “Courageous” as well as songs by other top Provident Label Group artists.
In theatres Sept. 30, Courageous drew more than one million viewers its first weekend, earning nine million dollars, an A-plus CinemaScore and rave reviews from national critics. The movie features title track “Courageous,” written by Casting Crowns frontman Mark Hall and recorded by the group. The song earned the most increased AC spins this week, making it No. 4 on the Billboard National Christian Audience Chart. Also in the film are songs by Third Day, Brandon Heath, and Mark Harris plus two moving score tracks by composer Mark Willard.
The Courageous movie soundtrack also features inspired songs including No. 1 hits "Lead Me," by Sanctus Real, and “Revelation” by Third Day. The 12-track project offers listeners an opportunity to relive the movie through some of Christian music’s most compelling artists. A complete track listing is as follows:
