(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) -- Nashville Publicity Group, a public relations firm specializing in family-friendly entertainment, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month. Launched by music industry veteran Brian Mayes in January, 2002, Nashville Publicity Group continues to emerge as one of the south's leading PR firms.
Over the past decade, Nashville Publicity Group has successfully represented hundreds of clients, including GRAMMY® Award winning recording artists, leading book publishers, feature films, non-profit organizations and more.
"I'm often asked what my favorite projects have been, and there are far too many to highlight," said Mayes. "But there are moments that are unforgettable."
Some of those "moments" include the opportunity to be involved with various projects at Elvis Presley Enterprises, standing on stage at the Grand Ole Opry, walking the red carpet at the American Music Awards and accompanying human rights activist Majed El Shafie as he testified before the United States Congress last fall.
"If I absolutely had to choose a favorite project from our first decade, it would have to be 2008's Phoenix Rising concert event at Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island," said Mayes. The charity event marked the fifth anniversary of Rhode Island's Station Nightclub tragedy, which took 100 lives, injured 200 others and took one or both parents away from a staggering 65 children. Rock band Tesla organized the massive benefit, and they called on us to assist with publicity for the event that featured performances by Aaron Lewis, John Rich, Dierks Bentley, Telsa, Gretchen Wilson, Twisted Sister, Stryper and more. Hosted by Bret Michaels, VH1 and VH1 Classic aired performances from the event on Easter Sunday 2008 as Aftermath: The Station Fire Five Years Later.
"Despite an economic recession and well-documented turmoil within the music industry, we've just experienced our tenth consecutive year of growth," said Mayes. "I'm proud of the friends that we've made, the partnerships we have created and the lives that have been affected as a result of the tremendous talent that we have had the privilege to represent."
Mayes lives in Spring Hill, Tennessee with his wife Jessica. He and his wife recently announced the creation of animal charity Buddy Care Foundation, and he is co-owner of Israel Theme Tours, offering unique celebrity and theme-driven tours to the Holy Land.
