Singer, songwriter and worship leader Allan Scott is receiving significant acclaim and media coverage surrounding his "God In Me" single that released to radio last week and is available now at iTunes®, Amazon.com and other digital retail outlets. The song declares the redemptive, hopeful prayer of Scott's life after experiencing the hope of the gospel in his jail cell as a former drug addict, dropout, thief and loser.
Salem Radio Network The Fish® featured Scott and "God In Me" in a "Rising Star" music download, with similar coverage from NewReleaseTuesday.com (beginning June 18), JesusFreakHideout.com, iTickets.com, HearItFirst.com and CCM, which is also featuring the story of the song in its current digital magazine along with a cover page mention. The song was further featured in the 200th Episode of Focus on the Family's Plugged In Podcast May 2, in a CMW "Spot Light" feature May 1 and in a LifterMag.com feature that posted May 27. An upcoming feature of the song and an interview with Scott will run soon in Worship with Andy Chrisman.
"This song is from a man who knows pain. But what comes out of the pain is the fact that he knows God is with him, and this song expresses that amazingly well," says LouderThanTheMusic.com in its 5-star review of "God In Me." "This modern pop/rock worship song sounds, at times, simply epic."
"I can see a congregation proclaiming the chorus together as they focus on who God is and what they want Him to be in their lives personally," says AllAboutWorship.com. "This song has a 'modern worship' sound, it is well arranged and mixed, and uses dynamics to build well."
Produced by hit maker Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, TobyMac, Nichole Nordeman), the compelling new anthem from Scott is meant to lift his struggling brothers and sisters; an encouragement to hold on in the midst of troubling circumstances. Having known the pain of multiple divorces by his parents, substance abuse, homelessness and loss of personal freedom through incarceration, Scott found that the goodness of God can restore all from hopelessness.
Based in State College, PA and taking his life story and music to churches, colleges, youth groups, festivals, conferences and retreats throughout the Northeast and beyond since he discovered for himself the hope of the gospel 12-years ago, Scott recently finished a six-day, 17-station promotional radio tour. The tour began May 26 and hit stations like KLTY (Dallas), KXOJ (Tulsa) and KADI (Springfield, MO) and networks like American Family Radio (Tupelo, MS). The tour, which also featured Jason Crabb, Kelsi Craig, Brandi Allison, Eliot Sloan and Jon Bauer, started on the Florida coast and worked its way across the gulf to Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
The new "God In Me" single follows Scott's 2012 Blameless and Free EP that was written by Allan Scott, co-written and produced by award winning music producer/songwriter Scott Davis (Kutless, Rush of Fools), and mixed by Allen Salmon (Building 429, Starfield). Characterized by lyrical depth, the project resounds with the message of God's redemption and grace. In support of the recording, Scott went on a 15-city radio tour with Paul Baloche and Travis Ryan, as well as shared the stage with artists like Big Daddy Weave, Anthem Lights and Abandon. In October 2012 he also led a campus wide worship event at Andrew Wommack Ministries International/Charis Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO.
