Nashville, TN (October 16, 2013) – Six-time GRAMMY® winner TobyMac received the esteem honor of being named “Artist of the Year” at last night’s 44th Annual Dove Awards. This is his second career win for “Artist of the Year” at the Dove Awards. Additionally, TobyMac took home awards for “Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year” and “Recorded Music Packaging of the Year” for his smash-hit album Eye On It as well as “Short Form Video of the Year” for the music video “Eye On It” featuring Britt Nicole. The four award wins add to TobyMac’s impressive streak of winning at every major award show he has been nominated for this season – GRAMMY® Awards, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, Australian Music Awards and the KLOVE Fan Awards. Last week, TobyMac was among an elite list of artists nominated for the 2013 American Music Awards in the category of “Favorite Artist – Contemporary Inspirational.”

After being announced "Artist of the Year," TobyMac received a standing ovation and was joined on stage with his band, Diverse City. Responding to last night's four award wins, TobyMac said, "Writing songs that connect with people's lives is my heart. I always want to push musical boundaries but a song offering someone hope or understanding in struggle is my creative bulls eye. I am honored to be called 'Artist of the Year' and can only hope that it's an indication that my songs are hitting that mark."

The 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards was held last night at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The entire event will be televised exclusively on UP! Television Network on Monday, October 21 at 8:00 PM ET.

Beginning November 7, TobyMac and friends will hit the road for his revered Hits Deep Tour. Joining him this year are Brandon Heath, Mandisa, Jamie Grace, Colton Dixon, Chris August and Capital Kings. For more information on the Hits Deep Tour, visit www.TobyMac.com/tour.
