Los Angeles, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2014)-- Critically acclaimed worship artist Anthony Evans, will debut his seventh studio record Real Life/Real Worship, nationwide on April 8. This will be his first album since attracting the attention of Grammy Award-winning artist Christina Aguilera on Season 2 of The Voice, in addition to garnering thousands of new fans worldwide.
It was Evan's who inspired the producers of the NBC hit show to implement the strategic "Steals" into the battle rounds, and will return as a talent producer for Season 7 and 8. Since his time on The Voice, Evans has recorded with iconic artists such as CeeLo Green, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. It was through The Voice and his experiences living in Los Angeles that Evans discovered he had the desire to communicate more effectively with a broader audience, and that there is a vast common ground of shared experiences to catalyze that communication.
"Living in L.A. has made me think more progressively," explains the Dallas native. "I want to make sure I'm not compromising my message or my faith, but I also want to speak in terms that connect with people who don't necessarily go to church. Half this record is about real life, things everyone goes through, Christian or not. And sometimes it takes that real life to understand the meaning of real worship." The singer/songwriter co-wrote the project with worship pioneers Martha Munizzi, her daughter Danielle Munizzi and Christian music staples Cindy Morgan and Krissy Nordhoff. He then partnered with up-and-coming Los Angeles producer Max Stark. Together they created a current, pop/soul infused 11-track album, that shows how genuine worship can often be better understood through authentic life experiences.
The worship anthem "Greater Is He," will be the first single released to radio in the upcoming weeks, along with the honest and passionate song "What Could Have Been;" a track that Evans says is about finally determining to voice the words he was always afraid to say to someone he cared about.
To coincide with the album release, Evans will be performing songs from Real Life/Real Worship in venues across the country, and continue to broaden his audience hoping to inspire all who listen. "My hope for this record is for people to be encouraged, and while I may come from the church, I go through the same things they do: love, breakups, failures, triumphs. We are all in this together and they aren't alone," says Evans.
