NASHVILLE, TENN. (August 21, 2014) -This week, 19 Recordings' Dove Award-winning artist and Season 11 American Idol finalist, COLTON DIXON, has released his highly anticipated sophomore album, Anchor. The album quickly climbed the iTunes overall albums chart to No. 4 and remaining in the Top 10 throughout this week, as well as holding strong at No.1 on the Christian & Gospel albums chart.

Dixon kicked off a New York City national press run this past Sunday with a performance of his hit radio single, "More of You," live on "Fox & Friends." Click here to see his performance as well as here for an exclusive online performance on "After the Show." Other media appearances included ABC News, Fox News, US Weekly, Christian Post and more. Dixon and his album has also been featured in this month's HM Magazine and the cover of CCM Magazine. His peers, such as Idol alums Chris Daughtry and Phillip Phillips as well as Mac Powell, Mike Donehey, Newsboys' Duncan Phillips, Kory Cooper and Jen Ledger of Skillet, and many others have also jumped on board this week sharing tweets about the release of Anchor.

The radio single "More of You" continues to climb radio charts landing this week at No. 16 on the National Audience chart with a total audience surpassing four million. The song is also up to No. 18 on AC Monitored, No. 15 at AC Indicator and the Hot AC/CHR chart takes the song up to No. 4.

The reviews for Anchor have been a good indication of the response to his sophomore effort - here are a few examples of what is being said:

"…American Idol alum Colton Dixon seems more relaxed, aware of who he is as an artist and how to translate that to his music. He's also more Anchored than ever before to his faith -- hence the album's title." - Rhapsody

"Anchor is more varied than Colton's previous effort and it's an album that will welcome a wider array of music fans…much credit is given to Colton Dixon for taking a different approach with this project and trying something more diverse; this is a welcome pop rock release in 2014." - JesusFreakHideout.com

"Anchor, an effort that finds the pop rocker at his best, delivering rocking anthems and soulful pop ballads that are tailor made for radio." - Soul-Audio

"I have rarely seen a new artist so impressively capable of claiming a stage, and yet doing so without an instant of arrogance or falseness. Colton Dixon is the real deal." - New Release Tuesday Concert Review 8/14/14

ABOUT Anchor AND COLTON DIXON: For his sophomore effort, Colton Dixon co-wrote with renowned songwriters and artists such as Trevor McNevan (TFK), Matthew West, TobyMac, Ben Glover, Matt Bronleewe and the album's producers, David Garcia (TobyMac, Mandisa, Newsboys) and Red Decibel (Switchfoot, Kelly Clarkson, Jeremy Camp).

Anchor follows Dixon's 2013 debut, A Messenger, which set the record for biggest first-week sales by a new solo Christian act, becoming the No. 1 selling album of 2013 by a new Christian artist and the No. 9 best selling album of 2013 in the Christian genre overall. Dixon played to more than 300,000 people last year and his current tour schedule through 2014 will place him in front of more than 800,000.

After his appearance on American Idol (Season 11), Dixon had national media exposure and received three Dove Award nominations, winning one for Best Contemporary Rock Album. He was also named a finalist in the recent Ryan Seacrest online Fan-Favorite American Idol Contestant from past seasons - placing 3rd overall. Colton Dixon has also been named the latest Steinway artist, following in the footsteps of folks like Harry Connick, Jr., Diana Krall and Billy Joel. Additionally, Dixon will have an exclusive ice cream flavor named after him. Boston-based boutique ice cream maker Emack & Bolio's will debut Dixon's unique flavor later this month.
