Nashville, Tenn. (September 16, 2014) - RayLynn Records flagship artist, Kyle Sherman, releases his lead single "Jesus Take the Wheel" today, September 16, from his upcoming sophomore album slated for release in spring 2015, through Provident Distribution.
After an exclusive debut on Sirius XM's "The Message," the song is available wide for download today on iTunes.
The multi-Platinum selling ballad, originally performed by Grammy® Award-winning country artist Carrie Underwood, tells of a woman seeking help from Jesus in an emergency, ultimately letting Jesus take control of her life. Sherman's country-pop cover of the song features Grammy® Award-winning producer Chuck Butler (Mandisa, Mercy Me, Amy Grant and Steven Curtis Chapman) for a guitar driven, mid-tempo rendition.
"I'm so excited about this new single and country-pop rendition of 'Jesus, Take the Wheel!' The message of the song is relatable to everyone," says Sherman. "It's the theme of letting go and letting Jesus direct our lives regardless of our circumstances. He is our hope."
Over the past year, Sherman has toured with Francesca Battistelli, The Afters, Third Day, Jamie Grace, Phil Wickham, and more. Having released his debut album Hear Me in 2012, Sherman worked alongside highly-acclaimed producer and country singer-songwriter Mark Collie (Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson). Together, they provided a project that stylistically fit within the environment of a downtown bar room as much as it did in a suburban megachurch. Hear Me launched Sherman into stardome with his first radio single, "Come to Me," as well as the Easter ballad "The Greatest Tear" and the understated, yet beautifully anthemic chorus "Hallelujah."
Prior to his accomplishments as an artist, Sherman spent a decade as a worship leader. He began leading worship at his local church as a teenager, progressed to Dallas Baptist University, where he graduated as the campus worship pastor, and finally took a full-time role as a worship leader at Lifechurch.TV. It was here that Lifechurch.TV attendees and RayLynn and Texas Rangers owners, Bob and Janice Simpson, approached Kyle with the possibility of making him the label's flagship artist.

About RayLynn Records
RayLynn Records was founded in 2011 by Bob and Janice Simpson, co-owners of the Texas Rangers. The Texas businessman has struck billion-dollar deals and turned numerous failing companies around, including Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers, whom he purchased out of bankruptcy months before the organization advanced to its first World Series. Together, The Simpson's founded RayLynn Records (the name derives from a combination of Bob and Janice's middle names, respectively) after they struck a relationship with Kyle Sherman, who at the time was serving as a worship leader at Lifechurch.TV. Impressed by Kyle's musical talent and raw passion, Bob approached him about recording an album and teamed him up with legendary country singer-songwriter, producer and friend Mark Collie.
