(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) May 29, 2015-Tween Gospel Alliance (TGA), in conjunction with Creation Music Festivals, presents the "Shock and Awe Show" summer event series. The dynamic live program will feature original short-format movies, interactive video, expert speakers, live musical performances and illusions for an afternoon designed to inspire a new generation for Christ.
Kicking off June 24 at Creation Northeast in Mt. Union, Pa., the "Shock and Awe Show" aims to inform and equip youth with scriptural truths that will help them navigate a post-Christian America.
"We want to prioritize the spiritual formation of 'tweens,'" explains Brad Mathias of TGA. "Asking and answering foundational faith questions with leading Christian authors, artists and authoritative key-note speakers-paired with live music, media and magic-we will work to refute and reverse the cultural shift leading our youth away from biblical truth."
Troy Duhon of Creation Festivals agrees, "We are so excited to be partnering with the Tween Gospel Alliance to provide exciting content every day of every festival, exclusively for tweens and their families. Disney and Nickelodeon have had a corner on the tween market for too long. We at Creation along with the TGA are doing all we can to change that."
Among those tasked with engaging the more than 25,000 young people expected in attendance each weekend are Dannah Gresh of Secret Keeper Girl, Daily Audio Bible's Brian Hardin, Alexis Slifer of iShine and pastor Brad Mathias.
Gresh comments, "We are so excited to bring strong biblical teaching specifically for tweens, while iShine brings the power of musical excellence!"
"It is such an honor to be invited to participate in the 'Shock and Awe Show' at the Creation Festivals this year," says Hardin. "The questions being asked and the genuine heart to give a tween the intellectual dignity they deserve speaks to me deeply, and it is profoundly needed in churches and among the Christian culture right now."
Jeff Sheets, president of EchoLight Studios, responsible for producing and distributing the upcoming faith-based film "Vanished: Left Behind - Next Generation," comments on its involvement, "We have the same passion to see tweens experience Christ in an authentic life-giving way that transforms their lives and touches those they influence. 'Vanished' and its lead female actress Amber Montana will speak right to students hearts compelling them to live boldly in their faith."
"I was recently just a 'tween' myself; I totally know and have lived through the pressures these kids face," says Montana of Nickelodeon fame. "I look forward to the opportunity to encourage them to know why they believe what they believe and to stand firmly in their convictions."
The catalytic event will also feature spoken word performances, live music, illusionist Tom Coverly, and iShine KNECT TV artists and stars The Rubyz, Spencer Kane and Abigail Duhon.
