Hip-hop/alternative artist NF (Nate Feuerstein)will release his new album, Therapy Session, on April 22 via Capitol Music Group. Therapy Session is the follow-up to the Michigan native's debut album, Mansion, which entered the Top 10 of Billboard's Rap Album chart after its March 2015 release.
NF is giving fans a preview of the album with the release of a new track and video, "I Just Wanna Know." The video, directed by Patrick Tohill, premiered today on VEVO and can be viewed HERE.
Beginning today, fans who pre-order Therapy Session digitally HERE will instantly receive "I Just Wanna Know" plus the album's first single, "Intro 2." See below for the complete track listing. Exclusive bundles and a vinyl edition of Therapy Session can be pre-ordered HERE.
For Therapy Session, NF teamed up again with producers Tommee Profitt and David Garcia, who helmed Mansion. "Intro 2," the lead-off track, picks up where his debut left off - "I'm back did anyone miss me/They say the second record can be tricky" - and examines the unexpected ways the album's success impacted his life. The song explores one of NF's most personal and complex relationships, the one that gives the new album its name and central theme:
You call it music I call her my therapist
She keep on tellin' I have been carrying
Way too much baggage I need to take care of it
I know she's right, but man it's embarrassin'
Music has raised me more than my parent did
The video for "Intro 2," which was also directed by Patrick Tohill, can be viewed HERE.
With vulnerable lyrics stemming from a personal story of abuse and loss, NF's Mansion resonated deeply with fans. Album sales have surpassed 117,000 and streams exceed 53 million. His videos have racked up more than 20 million views cumulatively. The songs of Mansion were widely licensed, with "Intro" featured in the season finale promotional campaign for FOX's "Empire" and EA's "Madden NFL 16" game and soundtrack, "Mansion" heard in CBS's "Shades of Blue," and "Wake Up" licensed by ESPN's "Monday Night Football," NBC's "Chicago PD" and VH1's "Love and Hip Hop," among others.
AllMusic.com hailed Mansion as "awesome" and noted, "Coming on strong with the speed of Enimem...NF gets dark and introspective on his debut album, but there's plenty of hope and honor here as well."
