Husband/wife duo Vocal Few (featuring The Classic Crime frontman Matt MacDonald) have announced the pair's first holiday release. Snowdrift EP is a "seasonal" album of original songs about existential crisis, joy, loneliness, snowstorm-induced camaraderie, and holiday-induced religious baggage. In short, it's "Christmas music for those of us who don't like Christmas music" (besides Amy Grant's "A Christmas Album," which Matt's wife Kristie plays on repeat for nostalgic reasons during the holidays). Snowdrift EP was recorded in a few short days, splitting time between two garage studios (Theirs and friend engineer/mixer Brett Baird's). The EP's album art was created by Ryan James. The EP is available for pre-sale as "Pay What You Can," with 5 available payment tiers. "We want to buy an RV, and the higher tiers will help our cause," the MacDonalds explained in their announcement. "Snowdrift EP was inspired in part by the birth of our boy child (River), and we'd like to take this family of 5 on the road for awhile. No pressure though, because if you're buying this record, you're already a hero." Each preorder comes with an immediate download of their new song, "Ice Storm 2008," and will get Snowdrift EP in 24bit high-definition digital quality, delivered to your email inbox two weeks before release day.
