Brooklyn, NY – For the past four years, ethereal rockers YOUNG OCEANS have quietly released independent albums, organically growing a grassroots audience of fans seeking a deep, personal worship music experience. This fall, YOUNG OCEANS will release not only a new album titled “SUDDENLY (or the Nuclear Sunburst of the Truth Revealed)”, they are preparing to tour for the first time in the band’s history. In the early stages of writing the band’s 2014 album “I MUST FIND YOU”, songwriter Eric Marshall became captivated with the Eucharist. “Whatever the language, whatever the time, whatever the culture, participation in Communion provides an intimacy and solidarity founded not in prosperity or political power but in brokenness, humility and surrender,” he states. “We took on the challenging experiment of writing a collection of songs that could double as a traditional Eucharist service.” The sacrament of communion has been celebrated by every form of Christianity: Protestant to Catholic to Orthodox, since Jesus shared the Last Supper with his disciples in the upper room. Like many of their listeners, Eric grew up in a mainline Christian denomination where often communion was treated as a once-a-month habit instead of honored as a sacrament, an outward sign of an inward grace instituted by Jesus. Eric continues, "Young Oceans, and certainly this album, is not an ecumenical exercise but rather a poetic one. I’m not speaking for any denomination or specific perspective. We’re exploring something that is mysterious. Something that is supposed to unite us." The result is Young Ocean’s latest project, “SUDDENLY (or the Nuclear Sunburst of the Truth Revealed)”, releasing October 20. The album is a collection of recordings that double as both a Eucharist liturgy and a new Young Oceans album. The songs weave echoes of ancient prayers that Catholics and Protestants alike will find familiar, from invocation to benediction. To kick off the album, a Pledge Music campaign has been created to give fans early access, exclusive content, videos and merchandise. http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/youngoceans/updates Then, in November, Eric will share Young Oceans songs live as support on Plumb’s “God Help Me” tour.
