“I can’t think of a better thing to write music about than the Gospel that we preach and sing about.” said Dwan Hill after winning his first ever Grammy award on Sunday, January 28th. Written by the two first-time Grammy award winners: Dwan Hill (left) and Alvin Love III (right), multi Grammy Award winner, Cece Winans, recorded “Never Have To Be Alone.” Still shocked to have even been nominated, Hill said, “I had the work tape for Never Have To Be Alone on my phone for 3 years and never had any plans for it. While planning the worship music for our Sunday service, Alvin overheard me messing around with the song on piano and asked if he could write to it as well.” Love was in the process of choosing songs for Cece’s latest album: Let Them Fall In Love and he immediately “fell in love” with Never Have To Be Alone. “I want to first think Cece for recording the song and giving birth to me as well...” said Love as he accepted his first Grammy, Sunday night ahead of the main ceremony. Winans had no doubt that Let Them Fall In Love would be a family affair; leading to Alvin Love’s first major production credit and Grammy for Gospel Album Of The Year. The jive of contemporary R&B and throwback to big band horns prove the talent and ear of producer Alvin Love III. With songs like Never Have To Be Alone and Dancing in the Spirit, the era of Let Them Fall In Love will continue throughout the reigning genre of Gospel music.
