Skillet has been rocking listeners since 1996, but it's hard to deny that the band's sound has evolved a lot in recent years. Knowing this, frontman John Cooper has started a new metal side project called Fight the Fury, which he announced today. The band plans to release a new EP this year and tour Russia in December.

Cooper wrote on the band's official Facebook page, "I have been dying to announce my new band Fight the Fury! For those fans who keep asking for hard and heavy music, this project is for you. We're also stoked to announce we'll be playing some shows this December in Russia! Sign up now for upcoming announcements, tour dates and NEW MUSIC. Maybe you’ll hear something later today…" To sign up for the band's email list via Atlantic Records, visit bit.ly/2D6nqjW

You can follow Fight the Fury now on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/fightthefuryofficial/ for the latest about Cooper's musical exploits outside of the Skillet brand.

FIGHT THE FURY is:
John Cooper — Vocals/Bass
